I Like Big Bows! Crochet Bow Headwrap {free Pattern}
EDITED 9-9-15
I am on a bow kick right now! Last week I made a bow hat and listed it in my Etsy shop! This week I am excited to share the crochet bow headwrap pattern! They work up really quickly and can be so versatile! You could make the headwrap and the bow different colors. I think a striped headband with a bow would also be darling!
Materials:
- Worsted weight yarn
- I hook
- H hook
- Scissors
- Yarn needle
Headband:
With I hook–
Newborn: Ch. 50
0-6 Month: Ch. 55
6-12 Month: Ch. 60
Toddler: Ch. 65
Child: Ch. 70
Sl St. in first chain, making sure you don’t twist your chain. Switch to H hook. This will help with the tightness of the starting chain.
Chain up 2, dc in each stitch around, sl st in first dc. Repeat 4 more times for Newborn/0-6 month (5 rows in all) and repeat 5 more times for all other sizes (6 rows in all)
Tie off and weave in ends.
Bow:
With I hook–
Newborn/0-6 Month: Ch 25
6-12 Month and up: Ch. 28
Sl St. in first chain, making sure you don’t twist your chain. Switch to H hook.
Chain up 2, dc in each stitch around, sl st in first dc. Repeat 4 more times for Newborn/0-6 month (5 rows in all) and repeat 5 more times for all other sizes (6 rows in all)
Leave a long tail for attaching bow to headband.
Assembly:
Place bow on top of headband. I make sure to hide the seams of the headband and bow by placing them closest to each other.
Take bow and front layer of headband and shape them into a bow. Wrap the long tail of the bow around all three layers. Tie off and weave in any loose ends!
TADA! These bows would make a great gift if you’re on a time crunch! I have a few ready to ship in my shop if you would rather purchase one!
Happy Crocheting!
