Some children depend on pacifiers, some live for stuffed animals, some can’t go without their blankies. All four of my children have an obsessive connection with their blankies. We can’t get out of the house without them. Somehow, my three-year-old son has claimed a full-size couch afghan as his “blankie” and it travels everywhere with us. Church, groceries stores, walks to the park…EVERYWHERE!
I quickly decided to create this On-The-Go Crochet Baby Blanket for our fourth child. It still gives her the comfort and security she loves (and those perfect holes to slip her fingers into), but I do not have to immediately toss it into the washer when we get home because it was drug across Walmart’s floor.
This pattern is not only fast, but it is also very simple for beginners. Also, keep in mind that the colors can be varied depending on the look you want to achieve. I am an absolute fan of Simply Soft Yarn and chose Robin’s Egg and Soft Grey Heather for this particular project. Perhaps finding out the nursery theme would help you determine the perfect colors to make this great a baby shower gift.
